Joe Needs Surgery
Hi everyone. Today Rick and Joe went to the doctor's for what we thought might be Joe's last visit to Dr.Kolodychuck. In the xray he said the small bone is healed fine, it's the big bone that has a gap. So on Wed. of next week Joe gets his screws removed. If I understand it right, this should create the "give" that the bone needs. He also has some flexibility issues that concern the doc. I guess I am asking for prayer for Joe. This is surgery with a general anesthetic, but it is out patient.

Finished !! At Least for Now
Yep! It's a record for the Boucher household. I know we have never done this much renovation along with a regular work week. Well, we definitely didn't get as much sleep as we would have liked, but for now it is done. Eventually we will be painting the trim and the bead board as it comes primed and ready to paint. The laminate flooring is very nice and I have Rick to thank as well as his friends who loaned him proper tools to make the work lighter. Thanks everybody!
My favorite picture is the one of Rick sweeping! A close second shows the prisms in the window, a gift from my father long long ago.

Procrastination
Sometimes procrastination can take on gargantuan dimensions.
Take the article about the wash cloth. Simple knitting project, right? Sure, but #1 finished up looking like a platypus. So did I rush to finish #2 to erase the bad taste in my mouth? NO.
We decided to finish the floor with laminate. Oh, and then there's the bead board that I always wanted to do but could never find the supplies and money at the same time. But the old chair rail was higher than the new... so repainting is a must. Yikes. Will this nightmare ever end? Rick is having nightmares about all the cut outs he has to do with the bead board. I am managing the paint and though it is not the original #1 choice of color, it is a close second. Since I had to take everything off the walls, what better time to rethink groupings of paintings?
Man, I should have just finished the wash cloth.

Secret Pals No Longer!
Well we had a splendid luncheon today. The weather was sunny and crisp with no rain to dampen the mood. I found out that Iris had me for a pal, and of course I had her. I had suspected her from the start, but because I am such a terrible guesser, I decided not to get overly confident. I only took a couple photos, but this shows the soup bar, and the salads on the table. Oh my, we sure do have good cooks on Orcas Island.
