Crown Him Lord OF All

Joe and Ron Myers played a duet at church today that blessed us all.  Sometimes when the news and elections hype get to be too much, it is good to remember Who is really in charge and due our allegiance. It was beautiful.
It also amazes me that my dinky camera can record the sound fairly well, from the upstairs rear of the church.

Drummer's Knee

So Elliot got a ride on Ronna's drummers knee. He was having quite the drool fest and smiling madly since he had just woken up from a nap.  Elliot is taking a long trip to Boston to see his grandparents and auntie. We will miss Hollie and little E. We might even have to resort to knitting?

Our Knitting Class is Serious Business

Yes, this week we made some wonderful hummus.  I had never made it before and everyone was content to watch me and Barb make it.  I had soaked the chickpeas and cooked them the day before.  Oh my, it was easy and yummy. Sorry no food pictures.

You wonder why I have included a picture of Ronna with Elliot?   It is impossible to appreciate how cute he is in a freeze frame, so this is to wet  your appetite.

5 New Roommates, No 4, 5?

Angie and Betty on Saturday morning.  Normally animals are not allowed in housing along with college students. Maybe it is because they are so busy that they have no time to devote to a pet.  Or that the pet will damage carpet and furniture. Betty will be living with them for one quarter.
Betty is not your average dog. She is potty trained in a litter box.  Why the diaper?  Well, most ladies know that it is just her time of the month.

Her favorite pastime is a snuggle position.  She looks like my mom's fur collar on her dress coat.   Good thing she has her pick of 6 moms to snuggle and juggle.

Taking Angie Another Bed?

Well, I guess the first one was a bit squeaky.  Jenny slept on the floor with it this summer, but in a frame it is squeaky.  When it comes  down to it Angie would like her bed made by her Daddio. It has a headboard with a bookshelf and sliding doors. It is nice that she wants it, though portable it is not.  Comforts from home are important, and cheaper than buying new. Good thing we still have the Boucher bus.  Been looking at little cars that get great gas mileage. Someday....

Trickier Than Horseshoes, Ladder Golf

I couldn't believe my eyes when in the mail came this enormous package... a belated Birthday Present!  I am ssssooooo into Birthday Seasons but Wow this one went clear into mid September!  So here is my present, created just for me ( and family cuz playing alone is no fun) by Robb's hands.  Rick assembled the "ladder" in less than a minute, but it was night time. So first thing in the morning yesterday we had a match on the lawn before everyone left for work.
I used the pink bolas, and Rick the silver.(but maybe silver matches my white wings better?)
It is Tricky. Just when you think you've made a great shot it wraps and unwraps itself!  We didn't have time to play an official "21 " game, but we played to 10. Actually Angie started and Rick finished.
Look at this shot of Ricks.  Two on the top wrung (3 pts. each) and one on the botton (1 pt.) Yikes, I am going to need to practice, But it is so much fun.  Portable too!
Would you believe there is a ladder golf web site?  Very Cool!  Did I say Thank You Yet? Barb and Robb continue to come up with home made items that are better than anything in  the store!

Elliot is Growing Up

We should know better than to torment a sweet little baby by trying on Barb's hats!  But it looks like Holly doesn't mind sharing Elliot.  She is a very generous mom when it comes to letting us vultures hold him.
Heidi has the magic touch and Elliot is down for the count. How can he sleep in that position?
And here he is with Kathy and Heidi looking on. He is getting to be the cutest bug around. All this and more happens at our knitting group.  Elliot must be our mascot.

Univited Guest

I try to practice hospitality because it does not come naturally to me...  But when someone shows up late on Friday night and causes my dog to have a barking fit that can not be calmed, right when I was ready for bed, it's kind of hard to have warm fuzzies.  Unless your visitor is fuzzy.  We borrowed a live trap from a friend and captured the ferret easily.  He dined on cat food and water, didn't care for tuna fish much and slept soundly in our shed.  In the morning we took photos and discussed how to take care of our guest.  Let's just say we didn't have the heart to end his days, though we probably should have.  They  are a terror with chickens etc...  But we took him for a ride and he lives in the country.  He was awful cute. Maybe we should have built a hutch and reformed him?

Knitting ?

It just doesn't get any better than this.  I did bring some yarn and needles with me but didn't get much done.  We had one of the liveliest sessions ever.  Seems everyone had a reason to drop in on Barb today.
Even Barb who doesn't "do sugar" can appreciate a donut every 10 or 15 years.
People will do most anything to get just one more...

Donut Daze

Sizzlin'  fresh raised dough made by Barb
Golden brown Beauties
Dunked into a sugar bath and rescued by Kathy
Piled High
Look at these Maple Bars!! Oh My!!

My Favorite Time of Year... Salsa Time

You start with beautiful tomatoes
Colorful Bells
And so many different kinds of peppers that the flavor is bold and delicious.
The water baths are time consuming but it is all part of the process... good things take time.
When it is all done it is such a feeling of accomplishment.  To taste test we ate burritos with a generous scoop of fresh salsa.  I must say this has a nice kick.  Come by for a taste.

Mat and Julie's Wedding

Mat, Julie, Kathy and Mark take pictures before the ceremony.  It was an absolute beautiful day, not too hot, and everything went as smooth as silk.
The bridal party was so handsome together. All the gals in pink are family of the bride, oh and now to the groom as well!
There was a slight breeze and the bubbles didn't want to go where we blew them... Oh where was the birdseed when you wanted it? Now they are off on a  honeymoon to Cancun only to return to the books at UW.   Congrats You Two!!
