First Time for Everything

Can you see the little bird sitting in the magazine rack?  It used to be in our kitties mouth. You see this is the first Trophy they have brought inside.  I heard the kitty come in the cat door which is in our bedroom, and head into the bathroom where there  was much commotion.
All those little black things are tail feathers.  Missy plucked all the tail feathers and then it flew up into the window sill.  Rick then caught bird and the cats kept hunting feverishly.
Since Missy was the huntress, clueless Midnight still thinks the birdy will come back to the window sill.  None too bright.
The bird was let go out the kitty door and flew away. Hope it can make it.
What is going on here?????  I can't tell what time it is on the Sundial!!
Yes, yesterday afternoon/evening it snowed. Only a dusting, but school is delayed 2 hours???
We were ready for Spring, warmth, gardening, flowers etc....

Do You See One You Like?

Our Hearts Abound!  Sometimes they felt well.  Sometimes you still see the knitting and eventhough it tightens up, it doesn't look felted.  I guess that's our artistic license.  If you see one you'd like, I'd send it to you.

Yes, It has been a long time...

What have I done for the last two weeks??  Well, we are in the throws of a fund raising, felted heart pins surge.  I meant to take a picture of the newest 9 that I had ready for selling.  I will take a picture soon and let you decide if you'd like to order over the internet.

Let me tell you a story.  Our knitting group's fearless leader has a grandson named Jordan (16)  who took a bad spill while snowboarding.  He is now in the hospital, an incomplete quadriplegic, who will be coming home in 9 short days now. It has been over two months since the accident.  The apartment that he will be living in with mom and twin brother is like a duplex attached to Barb's home. The heating system needed replacing because propane puts moisture into the air.  The new system will run about $1,000.  So we knitters got our heads together and decided we could sell felted hearts to fund the project. The entire remodel is running about 20K.  So far we are over $1,500 and climbing.  We just keep knitting and felting.  It is great fun to see people all over the island wearing the felted hearts.  So really, every spare moment feels like it is spent doing hearts.  It is an amazing small thing that we can do and people have just latched on to giving and getting a small token for their generosity.

I imagine someday we may knit something else?  But not yet.
I've done other things in the past two weeks, but this has been the thread that doesn't quit.

It's a Cat's Life

First of all you see before you four felted Catnip "mice".  It seems they are the absolute rage for all cats we have tempted so far.  They are fun to knit and felt. These are four that are waiting for new homes.
Midnight is King of the Castle. This deluxe climbing gym and snoozing platform was made by Rick for his favorite beasts. He was inspired by Ron Griffin and keeps adding things as they tickle his fancy.  The Cats love giving it a full workout.
