Crab Carnage

This is the part of crabbing I was never taught as a child. Chesapeake Blue Crabs you just throw into a huge kettle and steam them. Picking them yields little meat but lip smackin' spices. Old Bay is a summer Staple.
I have to say that I appreciate Angie and Rick "cleaning" the crabs this way because it makes the pickin so much easier.

And I have to say that this method of cleaning the crabs shocked Robb and I when we were visting. Steaming them to death in a big pot seems somehow more humane than whacking them in half on the dock so they can watch their own guts pour out into the water. Don't ask me why. :)
