Just had to show another snow shot.  The trees on the hill are snow covered though you might not be able to tell.  It is a beautiful day on Orcas Island.

Wow, it seemed like it was coming down gangbusters last night... imagine my dissapointment when the picnic table told the real story!  It is still pretty and white and our temperatures are supposed to stay at freezing or below all day...  Maybe we'll get more!!

Evidence of Spring

Well, our chickens started laying again.  Days are getting longer, thankfully and those pretty green eggs are a welcomed sight.  These are not washed yet for those of you who think eggs come "clean". Don't you just want to curl up with a Dr. Suess book and fry up some ham.  Mmmmmm

Weather is Weather

I decided to remove the dumb question from the blog. Nobody wants to talk about the weather right now and I don't blame them.  We were having very wet, cold temps. Now we are cold and dry and the weather doesn't seem so bad.  Maybe it is the cabin fever kicking in.  There is still a bit of Winter to get through before we start longing for Spring.

New Trick for the New Year

Well, the girls have been trying to get me knitting and I am a slow learner, or maybe I just didn't want to work on a scarf because that is all I ever make.  So good friend Patricia came over yesterday and showed me how to do a wash cloth half way. So I learned how to yarn over to increase and my next lesson will be how to decrease to do the other half.  I know it is baby steps, but it is a new trick for me.

Music Concert is a Success!!

I got some major coaching on how to edit video clips of Joe's concert. The old dog's grey matter is scrambling to make this work.  The evening was well attended and there was lots of good music, and to top it off there were fine refreshments. A good time had by all.

What a Day we had!!  Starting with the dept. of motor vehicles... we were sadly disappointed.  We

have to wait for driver's ed classes to start to get the waiver so Joe can get the permit. We had forgotten his birth cert. also so it was not to be.

Next we met Angie in Bellingham for lunch at Wendy's and then on to the doctor's office. 

Joe got a very cool Rubik's cube that is black, grey, silver, white... you get the message. It is called Icon, and it's too cool to mess up!

Joe also got one of our favorite movies for the year, Hairspray. It is a crack up.  It was a fun, fun day.

It was good news from Dr. Len.  Joe's allowed to put weight on progressively according to his comfort level.  His healing is on target and Dr. Len thinks he will be able to play golf this season.
