This picture was taken in March of 2012 while visiting Mom at the nursing home. We were in the day room and there was music playing. I think she was enjoying herself.
When Rick and I went back in October this fall Mom was responsive to Rick's voice and even cooperative when it came to eating.  Rick played the airplane game to try to get her to eat and it worked.... sometimes :)

Bunny has been so Faithful to care and love and give and give to make a difference in Mom's daily care. Joe her husband has been supportive and willing to sacrifice their time together.  Brother Joe has also been sacrificial in being there as contact person with the nursing home and power of attorney. Very wearing and emotionally difficult through the years.  I thank you both for all you have done.

A lot of Livin' in a short amount of Time...

What a SMILE. We Love MO! After a slow warm up period Mo was so happy to have fun with Grandma and Grandpa.
Beautiful flower in the outside garden of  The Rod and Reel Restaurant.

This action shot is just so cute. Mo loved playing around on the beach while we kept a sharp eye out for Shark's teeth.
Mo gave Grandpa an unfair advantage!
The family that hunts shark's teeth together stays together!!
I can't get enough of that SMILE!!
Speaking of smiles... SUKEY even upside down your smile is cute.

Nugget Boucher

This is one of the cutest pictures I have of Nugget. She is hard to photograph being so dark. She loves the snow and frolics like a puppy in it. She dislikes the rain and wants to come inside and hide away.  She has been declining over the last year, sleeping most of her day. She was fairly deaf and losing her sight. She had a tumor and it was going to require an operation. At the ripe age of 16 1/2  we decided it was time for her to rest in peace. I miss her and her presence. She treed a coon on the house just days before her end. She went out with her boots on. You know she lived her entire life at this house. She rests in the shade of the butterfly bush next to her dear friend Patches.

Missing Sakura

I went to Texas to help Jenny move to her new apartment and clean up the old.  It was hot and there was so much work to do. I honestly didn't think we could get it all done in time.  If it wasn't for Bob Cairns helping and a couple of Jenny's gal friends... I would have been slaving even longer.  The temps were in the low hundreds and sunny and dry.   The highlight was getting to know and love our little grand dog Sakura better. She was bewildered at all the changes and then hap-hap-happy to join her friends at the new place. My week with Jenny went fast but we got so much done... and had some play time too.

A little more Summer

We are still in the middle of crabbing season.  When we go out to check the pots we are always on the lookout for wildlife. Seals usually sun themselves in the afternoon but it's always fun to see them. This one looked right at us and no we were not this close... good ole close up lens.
I tried something new. Zucchini chips in the dehydrator. They dry super quickly since their pulp is not dense (like apples) and consist of water. I salted them and put them in... I put a little too much salt on and they will probably be better in soup than eating as a chip. Will try again minus the salt.
The Oak tree is getting much bigger. This is the only known baby from our parent tree that grew at 8809.  Remember that this all began with an acorn from Momma tree before she was cut down?
I had Joe come out to join me to give you a little scale. I had a talk with it and told it "You're a big boy now and need your first haircut. You want to be a beautiful tree, not a bush. Then I cut off lower branches and trimmed off little sucker branches. Lastly I had to put it's cage back around it because the deer love to eat it, so a little Bobbex (nasty smelly deer repellant) will help insure a happy tree.
I am a lazy farmer. I grew some plants inside from seed but never got the garden going. Just working too many places to get the job done. I finally put the starts in old buckets, canning kettles and planters out front. I love seeing my garden grow on my front steps.  I have been harvesting Zucchini and yellow beans. There are a couple of crook neck squash coming on.  It works for this year!
Mo Mo. When I saw this picture I melted.  We will get to see Mo in early October. Grandma and Grandpa are very excited to get to play with Mo and visit with family.
