Yeah, we get to go Live in the Country!!
So the chickens have been adopted by the Ashby family and already Kevin tells me they are getting eggs! Well that is good news. We found the last chicken who is really good at hiding, and Rick took her out today. They will be good company for the lonely Rooster!
Did I tell you that we found a hiding place where the chickens would escape to , lay an egg and go back to the hen house??? Well, Angie and I decided we needed to collect them in order to dispose of them before they became ticking time bombs... There were 50 eggs!! Whoah!! So those girls are still producing, just very sneaky about where !

Happy Easter
Holy Week is special to me. Tonight we celebrate Maundy Thursday at church. A celebration of the Last Supper. Very solemn and contemplative.
Tomorrow will be a Good Friday service. Followed on Sat. with a viewing of The Passion of Christ movie.
Not to be outdone with two Easter services to sing for on Sunday... and yes I have my voice back and I will sing To The Glory of God.
Happy Easter to You All!!

The Chickens are Organizin'
Why do I want to get rid of our chickens? I Love to see them roam around, and I am very fond of their eggs. I think it has something to do with the late night raids from Racoons that set Nugget to barking. I have seen the carnage that racoons make and I do not want to witness it again. I am also cheap and their cracked corn is costing a pretty penny these days. But they are pets....

Work in Progress
Creative ideas come slowly to me most times. This project is a fine example. Years ago we found the wrought iron frame in the attic of the "shed". I cleaned it up, painted it and thought it would make a wonderful base for a bench on the front porch. I never did see the wood or stone or whatever that would complete it. I kept thinking and watching.
We live in a very old house. We replaced a couple of upstairs bedroom windows in the girls rooms. It 's kind of nice not to have your windows blow open in wind storms. So I had these "antique" windows floating around.
It took a good year or more for me to realize I could build a cool collage table out of the two separate pieces. I had Rick cut the plywood base, then the two inch "box" frame to give it some depth. He attached the box to the iron frame and put a nice piano hinge on the back. Then he invented the little stilts that keep it open while arranging.
Next step, I got to fill, sand, and paint. I need to do some more sanding and painting before it is ready. It doesn't need to be perfect, but just a little more here and there.
I am anxious to fill it with treasures, but I want it to be exactly what I envisioned first.
So, that is why I called it a Work in Progress.

Feeling 93%
Influenza
I have had it for 16 days. The first 4-5 days with fever that would not break. Bad coughs that left me sore in my side and inability to take a deep breath or medium breath. Sleeping in a recliner, thinking it would help me not cough so much. Finding that sleeping in bed was more restful after all, feeling wellness creeping back into my bones. And finally able to sleep and maintain without medication. I am feeling pretty good. It's that last 7% that lingers on with cough. That tries to tell me "you can't sing for Easter".
Making myself rest... it just takes time.
